Devon County Council have confirmed that Devon & Cornwall Police have lifted all cordons which had been in place in Exmouth while the operation to dispose of the unexploded Second World War device was under way.
Residents are free to return to their homes and continue with their daily lives. Devon County Council, East Devon District Council and partners will remain at the scene for the time being and commence the recovery phase of the operation. DCC Deputy Leader and EDDC Leader Councillor Paul Arnott would like to thank residents for their co-operation and partners who have worked tirelessly to keep residents housed, safe and well.
