Our trademark summer event is back! The Tudor Re-enactment of Exeter Siege in the 1530s is happening. We are excited to welcome back Dr Ed Fox and his Commotion Times re-enactment outfit.
Experience the priory as a house under siege in the 16th century, with cookery, weapon displays, crafts, music, talks and children’s activities.
Refreshments available throughout the day. This event has FREE admission, but donations are gratefully received on the door or through our donation button: click here!
Do come and join us to soak up the history of Exeter’s oldest building and this quiet corner of the city. Founded by William the Conqueror in 1087, St Nicholas Priory was home to Benedictine monks for over 400 years and is the oldest building in Exeter. In 1536, like other monasteries, it was closed and the remains became the home of wealthy Tudor merchants.
