The Royal Devon’s Extraordinary People Awards recognise and celebrate the efforts and achievements of staff and volunteers at the Trust, who deliver extraordinary work day-in, day-out. The awards have eleven different categories, which highlight examples of brilliant ideas, teamwork, leadership, innovation, and sustainability.
Nearly 400 nominations have been received from staff and the public, recognising the dedication of people working in all kinds of roles across the Trust’s acute hospitals, community sites, primary care and specialist services, and directly in patients’ homes. Winners will be announced at a special celebration event at Sandy Park, Exeter, on Friday 3 October 2025, made possible by the support of sponsors and local businesses.
The Royal Devon’s Staff Lottery is the headline sponsor for this year’s awards. Nevada Construction are returning for a fourth year as a GOLD sponsor for the event and generous support is also coming from SILVER sponsors EX2 Group, Tusker, Denhams Digital, Westcountry Maintenance Services, and Dartline.
The Trust is also grateful for contributions from Moore-Wilson and Serve and Protect Credit Union.
Sam Higginson, Chief Executive Officer at the Royal Devon, said: “We are incredibly grateful to our sponsors, as we couldn’t run this event without their support. Our Extraordinary People Awards are such an important way to recognise our staff and volunteers and celebrate everything they do for our patients and communities.”
