Due to the continued warm weather, Dartmoor is incredibly dry right now and that means the risk of wildfire is high.
You can help reduce the risk, protect Dartmoor and keep yourself, family, and friends safe by:
Leaving BBQs at home and not lighting campfires.
Safely disposing of cigarettes, vapes, matches or lighters.
Keeping glass bottles away, sunlight through glass can spark fires.
Taking all your litter home with you.
Look at that incredible view, let’s try and keep it that way, we’ve all seen the devastation a wildfire can have on dry moorland.
Dartmoor is for everyone, and we want you to enjoy it, witness amazing sunsets, and climb those tors…a fire isn’t needed to do that
Leave nothing but footprints and make nothing but memories when visiting Dartmoor
If you spot a wildfire, contact the fire service immediately on 999 with the exact location.
Please help us to look after Dartmoor. Share this post and help spread the word, not wildfires.
