In July 2025, His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire and Rescue Services (HMICFRS) visited our control room to look at a specific issue that had been reported to them about the Vision mobilising system that services across the Networked Fire Control Partnership (NFSP) region use to assign and mobilise crews to incidents.
The visit was part of their response and investigation into issues that another fire and rescue service had been having with the system.
The inspection found no issues with any delays to response times, thanks to the work that our Fire Control team had done to identify and mitigate any risks. They found that our staff were knowledgeable and confident in using back-up systems while a fix, which has now been implemented, was worked on.
They did recommend an area for improvement around the escalation of risks to senior management. We have taken the recommendation on board and will put the necessary changes in place to ensure issues are escalated and acted on faster.
