Today the doors open for the final time to the Dartmoor National Park Visitor Centre Visitor Centre in Princetown.
Since it first opened in 1993, the centre has welcomed countless visitors through its doors, offering a place to discover Dartmoor’s landscapes, wildlife and cultural heritage.
In a statement on their Facebook page they said "We would like to thank our dedicated members of staff from across the decades for their hard work and dedication in always providing visitors with a warm Dartmoor welcome
And to everyone who has taken the time to visit, chat with our team, browse the shop, and enjoy the exhibitions - thank you for being a part of this special place.
This decision was not made lightly and reflects the well-documented financial challenges facing England’s National Parks. We remain committed to the Princetown community and are working with the Duchy of Cornwall to help explore future options for the building."
