Bake a difference this September for local end-of-life care.
Hospiscare, the local hospice charity for Exeter, central and east Devon, is calling for the community to come together over a cuppa to support local people living with a terminal illness.
Hospiscare provides specialist end-of-life care to adults across the heart of Devon and relies on public fundraising to generate over 75% of the £10million needed annually to fund its services.
From traditional coffee mornings to pamper and fizz nights or coffee-themed quizzes and games, members of the public can get involved in any way they choose.
Coffee Morning supporter and Exmouth local, Mel, says, “We have witnessed the invaluable care and compassion that Hospiscare has shown to many of us and our loved ones over the years. Their support brings comfort, dignity, and hope at life’s most difficult times, and we are deeply thankful. We are delighted to support this much-needed and worthwhile charity through our September Coffee Morning.”
Leading the campaign, Public Fundraising Manager, Laura Robertson, says: “This event is a great way to bring people together. At Hospiscare, we understand the power of a great cuppa. Each year, thousands of cups of tea and coffee bring comfort to our patients and their loved ones.”
Exmouth mum and daughter, Linda and Amanda Hockings, are hosting a Coffee Morning again this year. Linda says, “You can make your Coffee Morning as small or as big as you like, as anything you raise for Hospiscare would be a great help. It’s such a fun thing to do – you meet so many lovely people and hear so many stories about how amazing Hospiscare has been to these families, it’s really humbling.
“We promise that if you hold a Hospiscare Coffee Morning, you’ll enjoy it so much, and at the same time, you’ll help a much-needed cause.”
