Police are appealing for witness and information following a serious road traffic collision that occurred southbound on M5 near Exeter this morning. (Sunday 25th January)
Officers were called at 7.30am today, Sunday 25 January, to a collision between junction 28 for Cullompton and 29 for Exeter.
A silver BMW had collided with the central reservation. The driver, a man in his 20s, sustained serious injuries which are being treated as potentially life-threatening. He remains in hospital. The passenger sustained minor injuries.
A second car, a silver Mercedes has subsequently collided with the central reservation behind due to debris on the road. The driver sustained minor injuries.
The M5 was closed southbound for a period of time while emergency services attended the scene to respond to the incident. Officers from the Roads Policing Team would like to thank the public for their patience whilst the road was closed.
