The incident took place at around 1.30pm on Monday 10 June at the taxi rank area of The Strand. It was reported that a man was attacked by three suspects and struck a number of times to the head and face. His injuries are not believed to be significant. A woman was also assaulted and suffered minor swelling and bruising to her face.

A 26-year-old man and a 29-year-old man, both from Exmouth, were arrested on suspicion of affray and wounding with intent. Both have been released on police bail.
