Closure order on Exeter property

A closure order has been issued to a residential flat on Cordery Road in Exeter, after the property became a hotspot for anti-social behaviour; causing prolonged disruption to local residents.

On 25 February 2026, a full closure order was granted by Exeter Magistrates Court and served at the address, making it an offence for anyone to enter the premises for a three-month period.

Neighbourhood Beat Manager, PC Emma Osborne, said: “Despite numerous opportunities to engage and offers of support, the tenants and their associates continued to behave in an anti-social manner, causing significant concern for people living in the immediate area.

“As a result, a closure order - which is always the last resort - was applied for and granted, which prevents anyone from entering the property for three months and will inevitably restore peace and safety to neighbours.

“We hope this reassures the public that we simply won’t tolerate this type of offending and will continue to work closely with partner organisations to put a stop to it.”

The closure order will be reviewed at the end of the three-month period and can be extended by the courts if needed.

Anyone with concerns or information about antisocial behaviour should report it to us online using the reporting tool on the force website or by calling 101.
