At the Annual Town Council meeting, Councillor Graham Deasy was elected as Chairman and Mayor of Exmouth Town Council for the coming municipal year.
Councillor Diane Conduit was elected as Vice Chairman / Deputy Mayor. Councillor Graham Deasy, who represents Littleham Ward, is an active member of Exmouth Town Council. He currently sits on several Committees and Working Parties, including the Planning Committee, and the Flooding & Water Quality and Local Council Award Scheme Working parties. He also serves as the Council’s representative on key outside bodies such as the Exe Estuary Management Partnership, Exmouth Beach Management Plan Steering Group, and the Queen’s Drive Placemaking in Exmouth Town & Seafront Group. Councillor Deasy said: “It’s an honour to be appointed as Mayor and Chairman of Exmouth Town Council, I’d like to extend my sincere thanks to Councillor Whibley for his dedicated service over the past year. I will work hard to uphold the trust placed in me and am committed to supporting our valued community organisations and serving the residents of Exmouth with dedication, integrity and respect.” The Annual Town Council meeting also included a review of the terms of reference and delegation arrangements for the Council’s committees and working parties, and of the Council’s representation on outside bodies.
