Rugby fans can watch every game of the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 at Exeter’s city centre fan zone, with the action kicking off on Friday 22 August.
The fan zone in Princesshay launches on Friday with the opening match between England and the USA getting underway at 7.30pm. The opening ceremony will also be screened before the match starts.
Awarded to Princesshay earlier this year, the fan zone is the only one of its kind in Exeter and will provide a place where fans can come together to enjoy live coverage of every match on a big screen, including those hosted at Sandy Park.
Exeter’s first match takes place a day later, on Saturday 23 August, when Italy take on France at Sandy Park. Kick-off is at 8.15pm, with tickets still available to purchase.
The fan zone is a key part of Exeter’s host city celebrations, and spectators who visit will have a mix of seating options including bean bags, deck chairs, and picnic benches, with refreshments available at the on-site Bloom Bar.
Nearby to the main square will be a host of street food vendors, together with take-out favourites from Princesshay’s restaurants.
Princesshay Marketing and Commercialisation Manager, Hannah Overton, said: “We’re so excited to see the tournament begin on Friday. This is a big moment for Princesshay, the city of Exeter, and women’s sport. We’re proud to host a space that’s free, accessible, and open to everyone to come together and enjoy the atmosphere and excitement.”
Council Leader Phil Bialyk added: “It’s been a long time coming, but the Women’s Rugby World Cup is finally here, and it’s great to see Exeter on a global stage.”
Match days will also see a host of rugby-themed activities for visitors to enjoy. For more information, visit www.princesshay.co.uk/news-whats-on/fanzone/
