A call from a member of the public regarding a possible person in distress at Orcombe Point involved 3 emergency services last night.

Call from member of the public who witnessed possible person/s in distress in the Orcombe Point area.
Thank you to Beer Coastguard Rescue Team and RNLI Exmouth who responded also. Coastguard teams deployed to surrounding areas and Exmouth Inshore Lifeboat proceeded seaward.
The ILB was able to make contact and establish the persons were not in any difficulties.
This is classed as a “False alarm with good intent”. Never hesitate to report any sightings you’re not sure about ⚡️ DIAL 999 AND ASK FOR COASTGUARD 📞📱☎️
