Exmouth Town Council and the Exmouth Branch of The Royal British Legion are pleased to invite veterans, residents, local businesses and organisations to join us for our annual Remembrance Sunday Parade and Service in the Strand on Sunday, November 10th 2024.
Remembrance Sunday is a national opportunity to remember the service and sacrifice of all those that have defended our freedoms and protected our way of life. We remember the Armed Forces, and their families, from Britain and the Commonwealth, the vital role played by the emergency services and those who have lost their lives as a result of conflict or terrorism.
The Parade will be formed up by our Parade Marshal, Lt (SCC) Sarah Andrews,
on Imperial Road at 10.25am and will proceed along Victoria Road into the Strand for the commencement of the service at 10:50am.
Councillor Joe Whibley (Mayor of Exmouth), Neil Gregory (Chairman of the Royal British Legion), Reverend Steve Jones and Roger Bourgein (Town Crier) will lead the service at the War Memorial with the assistance of members of the Royal British Legion. Members of the public are welcome to lay their own tributes on the South Side of the Memorial.
Please note that Imperial Road, Victoria Road, Chapel Hill, Rolle Street and St Andrews Road will be partly closed to traffic from 10.15am to facilitate the Parade and some of the roads will not re-open until the event has concluded at midday.
If you require any further information, please contact Lisa Bowman, the Town Clerk, on 01395 276167 or by email at townclerk@exmouth.gov.uk
