Our volunteers crews have had a busy few days after being tasked three times.
On Tuesday 10 March 2026, at 8.50pm, the pages sounded for a tasking from HM Coastguard to Launch our inshore lifeboat, George Bearman II, to assist Devon and Cornwall Police. This was shortly followed by the launch of our all weather lifeboat, R & J Welburn, to support our inshore lifeboat. Both lifeboats were stood down by HM Coastguard, they returned to the lifeboat station washed down and made ready for the next shout. There will be no further information provided on this shout.
On Friday 13 March 2026, at 6.40pm, the pages sounded once more for a tasking by HM Coastguard. The volunteer crew reacted quickly to the page and made their way to the station getting ready to launch our inshore lifeboat, George Bearman II. The lifeboat was stood down before it was launched on this occasion.
Shouts for the volunteer lifeboat crews do not always result in a launch for various reasons, for example the casualty has self recovered and made it to safety on their own. When the pager sounds the RNLI volunteer crews are always ready to respond.
Yesterday on Monday 16 March, at 4.15pm, the volunteer crew were tasked to launch the inshore lifeboat, George Bearman II, to assist HM Coastguard. The inshore lifeboat was launched in fairly heavy seas and after a short while was stood down. The lifeboat returned to the station where it was washed down and refuelled ready for the next shout.
