Four men have been arrested following a suspicious incident involving children in Exeter. The incident occurred on Tuesday, 25 February, in the Alphington area, and police are appealing for any information or footage from the public that could help with the investigation.

Devon and Cornwall Police received reports of a group of men engaging in conversation with children from two vehicles on Loram Way at approximately 5:15 pm. The authorities swiftly responded to the scene, and after conducting inquiries, detectives arrested four men in connection with the incident.

The arrested individuals include two men from Exeter, aged 46 and 44, a 36-year-old man from Topsham, and a 50-year-old man from Torquay. All four remain in police custody as investigations continue.

Detective Inspector Neil Lloyd addressed the community’s concerns, stating: “While incidents of this nature are very rare, we understand they will have caused some concern within the community. There will be an increased police presence in the area while officers gather further evidence. If anyone has any concerns, please speak to the officers or call us.”

The police are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have been in the area at the time. They are asking for any CCTV, doorbell, or dashcam footage that might have captured the events.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the police online or by calling 101, quoting crime reference 60250049271.

The increased police presence in the area is part of ongoing efforts to reassure the local community while investigators work to uncover the full details surrounding the incident.
