Emergency services were called to the scene around 5.50pm after ambulance crews alerted police. The injured man received initial treatment at the scene before being transported to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.
The arrested man remains in police custody as investigations continue. Officers are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information is urged to contact the police, quoting log number 714 of 12 June.
