Detectives are currently investigating an assault which took place outside KFC on Imperial Road, Exmouth, on Saturday 26 April.
Officers were initially called to the scene at around 8.15pm, following a report that a male had been punched and knocked to the ground, causing him to lose consciousness.
The victim was taken to hospital having suffered a serious injury. A 31-year-old man from Exmouth has been arrested in connection with this incident and remains in custody at this time.
