Officers from Exmouth’s Neighbourhood Police Team seized £17,000 of cash and over £60,000 worth of alleged illegal tobacco and cigarettes from a car in Exmouth this week.
Officers from Exmouth’s Neighbourhood Police Team carried out a check on a vehicle in The Parade Exmouth on Wednesday 12 Feb. This led to police locating £17,000 of cash and over £60,000 worth of alleged illegal tobacco and cigarettes. The vehicle was seized. Two men aged 25 and 31 were arrested in connection with matters relating to Trading Standards and HM Revenue and Customs. They were released from police custody pending further enquiries. The cash will be the subject of a Proceeds Of Crime Act seizure and a hearing will take place at Exeter Magistrates Court on Monday 17 Feb
