An Exmouth finance manager is facing jail after she defrauded her pre-school of £65,000 over a five year period.
Claire Precious, residing at Madagascar Close, Exmouth, Devon, confessed to committing fraud by abusing her position during her appearance at Exeter Magistrates Court.
Having served as the office and accounts manager at Bassetts Farm pre-school from 2018 until January 2023, the 49-year-old was entrusted with responsibilities she exploited for personal gain, as revealed during the court proceedings.
District Judge Stuart Smith emphasised the breach of trust inherent in Precious's actions, noting that the fraudulent activities persisted over an extended duration. Consequently, the case has been referred to the Crown Court for sentencing scheduled next month, with Precious being granted bail in the interim.
