With only 50 days to go, excitement is building ahead of the start of the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025.
Exeter is a host city for the prestigious tournament, and seven games – including two quarter-finals – will be played at Sandy Park, home of Exeter Chiefs.
To get people in the mood and celebrate the 50-day milestone, a fun-filled, rugby-themed activity day will take place in Princesshay on Saturday 5 July, from 11am to 3pm.
It will include a doodle wall, rodeo, taster sessions for non-contact rugby, live music from Adam Moran and Roger Styles, and face painting.
Everyone is welcome to come along, find out more about the tournament, and have some fun.
Princesshay will be Exeter’s official city centre fan zone for the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025.
Located in the heart of the city centre, it is preparing to share the energy, pride, and passion of this global tournament.
Every weekend from 22 August, in Princesshay Square, there will be live big-screen coverage of the tournament, surrounded by food, drink, entertainment, and an electric atmosphere, set against the stunning backdrop of Exeter Cathedral.
There will be live match screenings of all tournament games, including those at Sandy Park and all England matches – kicking off with the opening ceremony and England v USA on Friday 22 August, from 7.30pm.
The fan zone will feature food and drink, as well as appearances from sporting mascots, local rugby stars, local rugby clubs, and a vibrant fan atmosphere for all ages.
It is more than just a fan zone – it’s a celebration of women’s sport, a place to come together as a community, and an inspiration for young female athletes across the region.
