The recruitment panel will recommend to East Devon District Council’s (EDDC) Full Council the appointment of Tracy Hendren as the new Chief Executive, following a thorough and robust recruitment and selection process.
EDDC's Full Council will consider the recommendation on 8th May, and if councillors agree, Tracy will begin the new role on 1st June 2024.
Tracy is an internal appointee, who currently works as Director of Housing, Health & Environment, and has served as one of the three interim Chief Executives since October 2023.
EDDC will provide further updates as the appointment process progresses, and the next steps for Tracy’s current Director role.
Tile Hill, an executive recruitment agency, as well as EDDC’s Interviewing Subcommittee (a subcommittee of EDDC's Personnel Committee) supported and advised the recruitment process.
The selection for the new Chief Executive included panels made of the Assistant Directors and a small group of employees. A technical interview, a psychometric assessment, and a formal interview with the Interviewing Subcommittee also took place. A technical assessor from Tile Hill conducted the technical interview and assisted the Subcommittee during the formal interviews.
