Resurfacing work will get underway on Rifford Road in Exeter next month (December).
As part of the development of the cycle route, the road will be completely resurfaced between Quarry Lane and Ludwell Lane, with high friction surfacing also applied in specific areas.
Rifford Road will be closed during the resurfacing which will be delivered in three phases. The first section will resurface from the junction with Quarry Lane to the junction with Lethbridge Road between Monday 2 December and Friday 13 December.
Exact dates for the remaining sections are yet to be decided, but it is expected that work from Lethbridge Road to Woodwater Lane will be carried out in January or February and Woodwater Lane to Ludwell Lane/Coronation Road in February or March.
There will be no access for through traffic along each section closed for resurfacing, however residents should still be able to access their driveway for most of the duration of the works.
During the closures, a diversion route will be signed via East Wonford Hill, Butts Road, Bovemoors Lane, Dryden Road, Wonford Street and Burnthouse Lane. Emergency access will be maintained, as well as pedestrian access.
Further information, updates, and a map of the proposed work area of the phase one work can be found on our website.
