Youngsters are set to splash into summer, with Exeter’s popular water play facilities preparing to reopen.
The much-loved paddling pools at Heavitree Pleasure Ground and the fun-filled St Thomas Splash Pad are set to open up again on Friday 23 May.
It means that with warm weather arriving early, families across the city will soon be able to cool down and enjoy the popular pools, which are run by Exeter City Council.
Cllr Ruth Williams, Lead Councillor for City Management, said: “I can’t wait to see these much-loved facilities open again.
“At the moment we are intending to reopen on Friday 23 May, once all the pre-season essential maintenance is carried out.
“Although the weather is unseasonably warm, we would ask people to remain patient whilst our staff get the facilities ready to be enjoyed over the summer.”
Both facilities are free to use and have become firm favourites with local families looking for fun, active ways to enjoy the sunshine without leaving the city.
Council staff are currently carrying out essential pre-season maintenance and water safety checks to ensure everything is clean, safe, and ready for use.
