A 14 year old male teenager from Exeter has been arrested by the Exmouth Neighbourhood Policing Team following two assaults in Exmouth earlier in the week.
The two assaults took place on Monday 15th April one at at a shop on Magnolia Walk and one outside Exmouth Indoor Market on The Strand. In the attack, outside the market an elderly man sustained head injuries after being attacked by a gang of youths.
Police said at the time of the attack that the victim of the attack outside the market was viciously attacked, punched and knocked to the ground. The injuries sustained, required hospital treatment.
The 14-year-old boy from Exeter was arrested on suspicion of assault by beating and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He has been released on conditional police bail until 18 July while enquiries continue.
