Two Skydivers Killed in Tragic Incident at Devon Airfield

Two skydivers have died following a tragic accident at Dunkeswell Aerodrome near Honiton, Devon.

A formal report will be submitted to the coroner, police, Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), the British Skydiving Safety and Training Committee, and other relevant authorities.

Emergency services were called to the airfield at around 13:00 BST. Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed that both individuals were pronounced dead at the scene.

In a statement, British Skydiving expressed condolences, saying: “British Skydiving has been notified of a tragic accident in which two jumpers lost their lives. Our deepest condolences go to their families, friends, and the entire skydiving community.”

Police have established cordons around the site, located approximately five miles (8 km) north of Honiton, and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

The Civil Aviation Authority acknowledged the incident but said it could not comment further while investigations are ongoing.
