Police are investigating a serious road traffic collision near Dawlish on Monday 1 June and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
Officers were called at 7.05am to a two-vehicle road traffic collision on Colley Lane near Dawlish.
The incident involved a white Ford Transit van and a black Honda motorcycle.
The rider of the bike, a man in his 40s, sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision.
He was taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries were not thought to be life threatening or life changing.
The driver of the van was not injured.
Police and the ambulance service attended the scene, and the road was closed whilst an investigation took place. It was reopened at around 11.30am.
