Residents are being encouraged to take advantage of the final Open Eco Homes Devon weekend offering a unique opportunity to step inside homes that are warmer, greener and cheaper to run.
The final weekend of this year's programme, taking place on 10 and 11 October, will showcase six homes across the local area, including one in Whipton, Exeter.
Householders are opening their doors to share their experiences of improving their properties through energy-saving and low-carbon measures.
The programme is organised by Energy Saving Devon, which offers advice to make homes healthier to live in and more energy efficient to run.
Energy Saving Devon is delivered by a partnership between all the local authorities in Devon, including Exeter City Council, as well as local community energy organisations.
Visitors to the Open Eco Homes weekend will be able to see a range of features in real homes, including solar panels, batteries, heat pumps, insulation improvements, wildlife-friendly gardens and other practical measures that can make homes more comfortable while reducing energy bills.
It gives people the chance to learn directly from residents who have already made changes to their homes, ask questions and hear honest accounts of what has worked, what challenges they faced and what they would recommend to others.
The initiative aims to inspire more people to take steps towards reducing energy use, lowering carbon emissions and creating homes that are comfortable and affordable to live in. Visitors can explore a wide range of approaches, from simple energy-saving measures to whole-home retrofit projects.
Details of participating homes, opening times and booking information are available via the Energy Saving Devon website.
