Youngsters at Cranbrook Education Campus are enjoying hands-on learning in nature as a new pre-school garden project begins to flourish, thanks to generous donations of plants, bulbs, seeds and compost.
The developing outdoor space is already giving young learners the opportunity to plant, explore and learn how things grow and change over time.
Pupils have been getting stuck in, helping to prepare beds, planting new additions and taking responsibility for caring for the growing garden.
At Cranbrook Education Campus, part of the Ted Wragg Trust, outdoor learning is a key part of the curriculum, with staff committed to creating experiences that connect children to nature and their wider community.
The school has thanked Tesco and Otter Garden Centres for their generous donations, which have helped bring the project to life. They say the space will continue to develop over the coming months, offering new opportunities for pupils to learn outdoors throughout the year.
Stephen Farmer, Head of Campus at Cranbrook Education Campus, said:
"It has been a joy to see our children so engaged in this project from the very beginning. The garden is already bringing learning to life in such a hands-on way, and we are excited to see it continue to grow."
Moira Marder, CEO of the Ted Wragg Trust, said:
"This is a brilliant example of how schools, pupils and community partners can come together to create enriching opportunities for children. It’s fantastic to see outdoor learning thriving in this way."
