The University of Exeter has maintained its position of 11th in the latest national league table.
Exeter retained its position just outside of the top ten of the Complete University Guide 2027. It also ranked second in terms of universities based in the South-West region.
Each year, the Complete University Guide publishes its UK university and subject league tables to help prospective students make informed choices about their future, including those weighing up late decisions or exploring Clearing options.
The Guide is based on ten measures of quality, including entry standards, student satisfaction, research quality, and graduate prospects, and includes more than 160 universities from across the UK.
Professor Lisa Roberts, President and Vice-Chancellor of the University, said: “We are extremely pleased to maintain our position among the UK’s leading universities in this year’s Complete University Guide.
“This recognition reflects the commitment of our staff and students to delivering an outstanding student experience so that students graduate equipped with the skills to thrive. It also recognises the quality of our research that transforms lives and livelihoods.”
The Complete University Guide 2027 also produces comprehensive league tables for subjects. These 74 subject tables are based on six measures, and include an expanded roster of 155 universities, university colleges and specialist higher education institutions.
For this year, a total of 24 subjects across all three Exeter Faculties were ranked inside the top 10. Among the best performing were: Marketing (2nd); and African and Middle Eastern Studies (3rd), while four more were inside the top five: Classics; Drama, Dance and Cinematics; Sports Science; and Theology and Religious Studies.
“Our methodology draws on a range of trusted, independent measures that reflect the factors students care most about – teaching quality, student satisfaction and graduate outcomes,” says Professor Amanda Chetwynd, Chair of the Complete University Guide Advisory Board.
