Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service has launched a consultation exercise on its latest draft five-year strategic plan.
The draft Community Risk Management Plan (CRMP) sets out the fire and rescue related risks in the area, and what the Service plans to do about them.
The draft plan outlines how the Service intends to manage the risks over the next five years (2027-2032) to help keep you, your home, your community and your environment safe from fire and other emergencies.
In this plan, there is a focus on community resilience, highlighting how the Service will work with partners and members of the community to develop a whole societal approach to building greater resilience.
Cllr Simon Coles, Chairman of the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Authority, said: "Earlier this year, we heard from 1,000 people as to the risks that they felt we ought to consider in the plan. I'd like to thank everyone who has contributed so far.
"In developing this plan, we considered these comments from the public and also analysed risk trends that could affect our services, our communities or our staff in the future.
"This summer showed what affect extreme weather can have on our resources and ability to respond to incidents. We need to continue to review and adapt to emerging risks."
The Service needs to make sure that we understand the risks we face across Devon and Somerset so that we can effectively respond in an emergency and reduce the risk where possible.
More information, including the draft plan, a link to the consultation survey, and dates for our question and answer sessions, is on our website www.dsfire.gov.uk/about-us/CRMP-2027
The closing date for responses is 9am on Monday 4 January 2027.
