Inspiring providers, volunteers and organisations from across Devon are being recognised for their outstanding contribution to the Devon Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme, as public voting opens for the 2026 Celebration and Impact Awards.
The HAF programme provides funded holiday activities and healthy meals for eligible children and young people during the Easter, Summer and Winter school holidays, supporting them to eat more healthily and be more active.
Every year, hundreds of dedicated staff, volunteers and organisations help to make the programme a success, offering safe, welcoming spaces where children can thrive. This can make a lasting difference to the lives of young people and families across the region.
The Devon HAF Celebration and Impact Awards offer an opportunity to recognise and celebrate everyone involved, while showcasing the positive impact being made for communities across the county and raise awareness of the programme.
Beth Trantham, HAF Programme Lead, said:
“This year so far, the HAF programme has commissioned more than 40,000 places across its network of providers for children in receipt of benefit-related free school meals and those eligible through our extended criteria. This has helped them access enriching experiences in sport, art, cooking, water sports and more, while building confidence, making new friends and enjoying healthy meals.
“For the awards, an expert panel carefully reviewed all submissions and shortlisted the nominees across a range of categories, from Healthy Eating Champion to Best Independent Provider. The awards ceremony will take place on the evening of Thursday 29 October. Voting closes on 16 October, so there is still time to have your say. We are thrilled to see how many votes are coming in, clearly demonstrating the difference the programme has made to children and families.”
The winners will be announced at the Devon HAF Celebration and Impact Awards event on the evening of 29 October 2026.
