People in Exeter can look forward to a summer of fun, community and togetherness, at a series of events across the city and beyond.
Inclusive Exeter, a community interest company that brings grassroots community groups and individuals together, is inviting everyone to take part in Summer Fest 2026.
Summer Fest 2026 sees five community events across the city, organised by various Exeter-based community groups.
It all starts on Saturday (4 July) with a Sports Day at Wonford Playing Fields. Come along from 9.30am onwards for a day of fun sports and activities for all ages, including friendly five-a-side football matches between various communities, fun races, games and a tug of war. There will also be a barbecue. The day has been organised by the Exeter Kerala Community and is free to attend.
On Sunday 12 July, the focus shifts to Cockington Country Park in Torquay, for a Community Family Picnic.
On Saturday 1 August there’s a Family Fun Day at Wonford Community Centre and Playing Fields. The following week, on Saturday 8 August there’s a Family Fun Day at Clyst St Mary Village Hall, and the Summer Fest finishes on Saturday 15 August with a Sports Festival at the University of Exeter’s Sports Park.
A representative of Inclusive Exeter said: “Several fantastic community groups across Exeter are organising these activities, and we have worked together to ensure they are open and welcoming to everyone.
“We hope they will provide a great opportunity for people from different backgrounds to come together, celebrate their cultures, and build stronger community connections. There will also be plenty of fun activities and delicious food to enjoy!”
