Three people have been arrested in connection with the death of a man in Chudleigh last year.
Officers were called at 10.50am on 25 December 2025 to a rural property north of Chudleigh following concerns for a man.
Emergency services attended the scene where a fire was believed to have occurred.
A man was located in the property and was confirmed deceased at the scene.
He was later identified as 81-year-old local man Godfrey Bradford.
Detectives investigating Mr Bradford’s death yesterday, Tuesday 18 August, made three arrests as part of the investigation.
- An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder.
- A 19-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of murder.
- A woman in her 50s was arrested on suspicion of intentionally encouraging/assisting the commission of murder.
All three suspects are from South Devon and have been released on Police bail.
DI Chris Lithgow from the Major Crime Investigation Team, said: “Our officers have carried out three arrests as part of our enquiries into the death of Godfrey Bradford near Chudleigh on Christmas Day last year.
“The arrests follow months of investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mr Bradford’s death.
“Police would like to remind the public not to speculate on what is an ongoing investigation.”
