In local cricket on Saturday in the Devon premier league Exmouth continued their winning run with a excellent victory over previous league leaders Sandford by 5 wickets at their Creedy park ground. Exeter convincingly beat visiting Sidmouth by 8 wickets at the county ground but Paignton were beaten at home by Tiverton based Heathcoat by 3 wickets at Queens park .
In the A division Torquay/ Kingskerswell move up to second spot after a 7 wicket victory over west Devon side Hatherleigh at the Recreation ground but Abbotskerswell remain bottom after a narrow 25 run defeat at Kilmington.
In division B Budleigh Salterton beat visiting north Devon side Bideford/ Westward Ho! by 3 wickets at the Holt , Torquay side Barton won by 61 runs against visitors Clyst St George at Cricketfield road to remain top of the league, Teignmouth/ Shaldon easily beat Ipplepen by 100 runs at Hazeldown and Cullompton beat Chudleigh at Duke street by 7 wickets while Stoke Gabriel moved up to second with a 5 wicket victory over Bovey Tracey second eleven.
In division C east Alphington/ Countess Wear lost by 5 wickets to Uplyme/Lyme Regis at the Chronicles, Ottery St Mary were. beaten by 51 runs at the Maer ground by Exmouth second eleven but Seaton had a convincing 160 run victory over visiting Budleigh Salterton second eleven at Court lane .
Finally in the D division East league leaders Upottery won convincingly by 90 runs over Thorverton second eleven at Glebe park and Topsham St James beat Clyst Hydon away by 3 wickets at Merryfield .
