In the A Division after being demoted last season, Exmouth lost to Exeter by 5 wickets at the County Ground. Opening the Batting Exmouth were all out for 224 and the home side reached their target for the loss of just 5 wickets.
Also in the A Division Budleigh Salterton lost by just 11 runs to newly promoted Killmington at Ottermouth, electing to field first Budleigh restricted the visitors to 205 for 8 after 50 overs but then came up short in their reply finishing on 194 for 9.
Clyst St George started their new season in Division B with a thumping 140 run victory over visitors Tavistock while Countess Wear had a comfortable home win over Upottery by 104 runs in Division C East.
