Round up of this weekend's cricket matches
In local cricket on Saturday in the Devon Premier League Exmouth were beaten convincingly by 6 wickets at Tiverton side Heathcoat, but Sidmouth won by 39 runs at Queens Park home of Paignton and Exeter moved up to 2nd spot with a 9 wicket victory over bottom club Plympton at the County Ground.
In the A Division Torquay/ Kingskerswell beat near neighbours Abbotskerswell by 6 wickets at the Recreation Ground while in the B Division Clyst St George easily beat Teignmouth/Shaldon at Hazeldown by 9 wickets, Cullompton regained top spot with a 40 run victory at Duke Street over visiting Budleigh Salterton Second Eleven while surprisingly Torquay side Barton were beaten by North Devon side Bideford/Westward Ho at Cricketfield Road by 6 wickets and Stoke Gabriel had a home victory over visitors Chudleigh by 8 wickets.
In the C Division East Ottery St Mary won by 3 wickets at Sidmouth Seconds Fortfield Ground, Seaton beat visiting Uplyme/ Lyme Regis by 5 wickets at Court Lane but Alphington/Countess Wear lost by 126 runs to Exeter Second Eleven at the Chronicles.
Finally in Division D East Upottery kept up the pressures and on the leaders with an 85 run victory over visiting Barnstaple/Pilton at Glebe Park and Topsham St James had a narrow 1 run win at Ottery St Mary Seconds.
