The cold weather meant a number of local football matches were postponed, here's a round up of the results from the games that were played.
In local football on Saturday most games were affected by the weather and were cancelled due to frozen pitches but Exmouth Towns fixture at Frome Towns Badger's Hill ground went ahead with another defeat for the Southern Road side. Once again Exmouth took the lead and looked the better side in the first half but 2 goals from the home side and two missed penalties meant they returned home empty handed after a 2-1 defeat.
Just one game survived the weather in the Peninsula league east with Cullompton Rangers enjoying a 2-1 victory over visitors Stoke Gabriel at Speed's Meadow but in the A&S Devon league Ottery St Mary were well beaten 6-2 in north Devon by Appledore, Budleigh Salterton narrowly lost 1-0 to Exeter University at Duckes Meadow but Topsham Town enjoyed a 2-1 victory over Feniton afc at the Coronation ground.
In the Devon and Exeter leagues there was just three local results with Exmouth Spartans losing to by 5 goals to 2 to Clyst Valley second eleven at the Commons ground and Tipton St John going down 4-3 at home to Seaton Town in the second division but in division 6 Otterton beat visitors Exeter Royals 3-1 at Stantyway.
