In local rugby on Saturday in the Regional One South West Exmouth Cockels remain top of the league after a deserved victory at Gloucester side Lydney by 32-27 while Sidmouth were beaten 20-15 by visitors Brixham at the Blackmore Ground.
In Regional Two Topsham kept their unbeaten record and top spot with a 67-14 win over bottom club Newton Abbot at the Bonfire Field with Tiverton remaining in second place after a tight victory over Crediton by 15-10 at Bolham Road. Okehampton made it eight wins on the bounce beating Winscombe away 40 points to 14 but Cullompton narrowly lost 11-10 to North Petherton in Somerset with Teignmouth losing 39-15 to Wadebridge Camels at Bitton Park.
In the Counties Division One Western West Paignton thrashed visiting Tavistock 94-12 at Queens Park while in the Counties 2 Devon leaders Torquay Athletic beat Devonport Services Second's 29-14 at the Rectory, Withycombe overcame a stubborn South Molton 12-5 at Unicorn Park, Honiton won 39-16 at Plymouth side OPMs while Exeter Saracens beat Plymouth Argaum 36-14 at Roborough.
