In local rugby on Saturday in the Regional One South West Exmouth Cockels continued to rack up the points with a 68 - 14 victory in Cornwall over St Austell while Sidmouth had a narrow one point win at Royal Wootton Basset by 13-12.
In the Regional Two South West league leaders Topsham seem unstoppable after keeping their unbeaten record with a 34 - 21 victory over Wellington in Somerset, Newton Abbot found new boys Okehampton to hot to handle at Rackerhayes going down 43-7, Crediton easily beat visiting Teignmouth 62 - 12 at Exhibition Way and Cullompton lost again going down in a close game 34 - 28 to Winscombe at Stafford Park but Tiverton got back to winning form with a 51 - 21 win over North Petherton at Blagdon.
In Counties Western West Paignton convincingly beat visiting Wiveliscombe 47-17 at Queens Park while in Counties 2 Devon, Torquay kept up their promotion prospects with another good win beating visiting Honiton 36 - 12 at the Recreation Ground. Withycombes game was postponed.
