Local businesses are being invited to take advantage of pop-up trading opportunities as Teignbridge District Council makes 15 sites available to lease across the district.
The sites offer a variety of vibrant and picturesque locations, including car parks, playing fields, parks, and scenic seafronts. Businesses can apply for spaces in Bovey Tracey, Buckfastleigh, Chudleigh, Dawlish, Exminster, Kingskerswell, Kingsteignton, Newton Abbot, Shaldon, and Teignmouth.
The Council is keen to hear from a wide range of enterprises – from food and drink vendors to innovative services such as mobile saunas or dog washing facilities. Previous successful pop-ups have included ice cream vans, seafront saunas, mobile coffee vendors, and street food trailers.
This initiative forms part of the Council’s asset strategy, designed to generate income from underused sites while supporting local enterprise and enhancing the visitor experience.
Restrictions may apply at some locations, for example, on ice cream sales, as the council want to ensure pop-ups complement existing businesses in the area.
Pop-up sites were first introduced by Teignbridge District Council last year, resulting in three sites being occupied by local businesses.
Businesses interested in applying can find out more about the application process on the council’s website.
