Help shape the future of the Teign Estuary and Coastal Partnership

From major coastal rail works and sand movements to hidden wildlife and unique heritage, this year’s Teign Estuary and Coastal Partnership (TECP) Forum will explore a wide range of coastal topics.

The event is open to everyone and takes place from 6.30 pm on Monday, 3 November 2025, at the Pavilions, Teignmouth.

Led by Teignbridge District Council, the Teign Estuary and Coastal Partnership coordinates the management of the Teign Estuary and the open coast between Dawlish Warren and Torbay. It brings together statutory agencies, alongside other local organisations.

The TECP plays an active role in economic development, water recreation, coastal defence, footpaths, slipways, fishing and shellfisheries, conservation, bathing water standards, and heritage trails such as the Templer Way and Stover Canal. The partnership also runs a small grants fund to encourage and support community groups with hands-on coastal management.

As part of its rolling five-year programme, the TECP is consulting on priorities for 2026–2031 and the Forum provides a key opportunity for residents to help shape future plans.

The evening will include a presentation on the Beach Management Plan, which outlines the evidence needed to shape the next generation of coastal defences along Teignmouth seafront.

Attendees are invited to take part in three-minute ‘soapbox’ slots to share a project or activity with the Forum audience. If you would like the opportunity to present, please email: coastal@teignbridge.gov.uk

The event is free, but booking is essential. For more information and to reserve your place, visit the Eventbrite page
