The Remembrance Service in Newton Abbot on Sunday November 9 will be conducted in the presence of Right Revd Mike Harrison, Bishop of Exeter, and be streamed live via Facebook.
The decision to broadcast the event, taken by staff at Newton Abbot Town Council, follows several years of previous successful streams that started during the Corona pandemic.
‘We know how important this event is for many people and want to make it as accessible as possible,’ said Events Coordinator Natalie Hicks.
‘We hope plenty of people are able to join us via their tablets, computers and phones, even if they can’t make it into town.
‘A recording of the service will remain on our Facebook page indefinitely.’
Activities on November 9 will get under way at 10am when the parade is due to assemble in Courtenay Street.
At 10.35am, the Parade Marshall will direct those taking part to head for the War Memorial where the live streaming will take place.
