Police are appealing for information after an infant was seriously injured by a dog bite at a play park in Kingsteignton.
The incident happened between 8:30am and 9:00am on Wednesday 23 July 2025 at the play area on Priscott Way, also accessible from Honeywell Road.
A loose, unaccompanied dog entered the park and bit a young child who was eating a biscuit, severing the tip of the child’s finger. The attack caused significant injury and left both the child and mother severely distressed. The dog then fled the scene in an unknown direction.
The dog is described as medium-sized and dark in colour, but no breed has been confirmed. Police believe the owner may live locally and could be unaware of the incident.
House-to-house and CCTV enquiries are ongoing, and officers are urging anyone with information to come forward.
