Police were called to a violent assault on a GWR train staff member on Sunday at Dawlish Railway Station.
Whilst the local response officer located the victim in and out of consciousness, the local neighbourhood officer PC Miller located the two suspects in a nearby bus stop and on arresting them was assaulted before both were taken into Police custody, with the response officer being injured on assisting.
Police would like to thank the multiple members of the public from Dawlish who embodied the best of the Dawlish community in assisting to restrain the two suspects and who offered support, with one member of the public sustaining injuries from being kicked to the face, who will be nominated for public commendation. The investigation is being led by the British Transport Police.
