Seasonal changes to Teignbridge beaches

From Wednesday, 1 October, summer restrictions on dogs on Teignbridge beaches will be lifted.

The area is lucky to have some beautiful beaches in the district, and the Council want to keep them clean, safe, and enjoyable for everyone.

Please remember to clean up after your dog, as it helps keep the beaches pleasant for all visitors and prevents the spread of diseases that can affect people and pets.

There are around 400 designated dog waste bins across Teignbridge, which are regularly emptied. If you find one that’s full, please report it to the Council and the cleansing team will take care of it. You can also dispose of dog waste in any general litter bin.

And if you’re visiting the beaches over the coming months, remember the Environment Agency’s pollution risk forecasting has now ended for the season.

Heavy rainfall can temporarily affect water quality in local swimming areas and it is advisable to avoid swimming for at least 24 hours after heavy rain.
