Officers investigating a commercial burglary at a lock-up unit in Newton Abbot are appealing for witnesses and information.
Police were called following reports of the burglary at a storage container site in West Golds Way in Newton Abbot at approximately 4am on Tuesday 3 September.
It was reported that five individuals were trying doors at the location.
On arrival two police vehicles were rammed by the occupants of a white Ford Transit van, causing considerable damage to the vehicles. The van, believed to contain stolen items, was then abandoned at the scene. Two officers sustained minor injuries.
The suspects then made off in a black Audi A5 reg LP11 YSR.
Extensive enquiries to locate and apprehend the suspects remain ongoing.
A cordon is currently in place at the container site while investigation work is carried out. We’d like to thank lock-up owners for their patience while they are unable to access their property.
Anybody with information that may assist investigating officers is asked to contact police on 101 or via our website quoting log 75 of 3 September.
