Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Paignton on Thursday 14 November.
Officers were called to Victoria Street by a member of the public at around 5.30pm, reporting that a man had pinned a woman to the floor. The suspect also caused damage to the door at Costa Coffee.
Investigating officers are keen to hear from any witnesses who saw the incident who have not yet spoken to police, particularly a man who intervened and challenged the suspect but left prior to police attendance.
A man, aged 38 and from Torquay, has been arrested on suspicion of assault and criminal damage and released on police bail.
