On Friday night, officers from Torquay Neighbourhood Team and Neighbourhood Support Team with additional support from Devon & Cornwall Special Constabulary, carried out a plain clothes operation targeting the illegal and antisocial use of electric bikes around the town.
In just a short period of time, a number of bikes were seized for being over powered, and riders will face prosecution for having no insurance and no licence.
These operations are part of our ongoing efforts to tackle dangerous and illegal riding, which poses a risk to pedestrians, other road users, and the riders themselves.
We’d like to thank the public for their continued support and information, it really helps us target our activity where it’s needed most.
Further operations will be taking place in the coming weeks. ^2307
