Work starts on the new planting scheme at the Italian Gardens

The revised planting will renew this much valued public space and provide a more sustainable formal garden area for the future.

Torbay Council are pleased to announce that the SWIS Co landscaping team are on site to progress with the new planting scheme at the Italian Gardens, Torquay. The revised planting will renew this much valued public space and provide a more sustainable formal garden area for the future.

Temporary fencing is in place whilst the team carry out some of the heavy groundwork and removal of the tree stumps. The fencing is required to ensure that you are not put at risk by accessing the work area. There are signs on the fencing showing the new landscape designs, alongside historical images of how the Italian Gardens have changed over the years.

The landscaping team plan to establish the structural and feature planting first, followed by the under-planting and bedding. The plan, subject to weather conditions, is to have the revised scheme completed by early April.
